Empower Beauty

On the surface, many of the earth’s ecosystems may appear beautiful.  Beneath the surface, more and more data indicates that humans are not living within the carrying capacity of the planet.  At the global scale, environmental management involves the oceans, freshwater systems, land and atmosphere, but it can be equally applied to any ecosystem from a tropical rainforest to a home garden – to the creation of advanced surface components.

That’s why Capitoline is proud to have earned the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain of Custody Certification.  Products with the FSC label ensures that they were sourced from responsibly managed forests.

At Capitoline, being a responsible member of the global community is why we place so much importance on what is beneath our surface components.  It really comes down to mathematics, renewable resources provide sustainable yield.  We care and consider our supplied resources to be aware that the rate of harvest does not exceed the rate of regeneration and that waste generation does not exceed the assimilation capacity of the environment.  We assemble raw materials from our suppliers that are constantly monitored to measure their environmental resource management responsibly.  Understanding how important it is to work with our clients to source the necessary materials to meet both their vision and their LEED requirements, our environmental friendly surface components are crafted with low-emitting particle board, MDF and plywood materials with materials with non added urea-formaldehyde.  We use low-emitting and water based laminating adhesives with non added urea-formaldehyde (NAUF). Beneath the surface, Capitoline components have certified wood, recycled content materials and regional materials that are 10 percent or 20 percent extracted, processed and manufactured regionally.
